KNITTING fans acrosscheap New era winter hats North Yorkshire have been urged to join in a charity event to raise money for Age UK.

Easingwold District Community Care Association has organised The Big Knit, along with Sainsbury's, Boots, and Innocent Smoothies, to help raise £200,000 for the charity. The event, to be held at Springhill Court in Easingwold on Monday, will see volunteers knit small "hats" to be placed on top of Innocent Smoothie bottles. For every bottle with a hat sold, 25p will be donated to Age UK.
